Navy Youth Hockey Association is moving forward with development of a new girls hockey squad. We currently have at least 8 U16's and at least three young ladies over the age of 16 so we would need to declare as a U19 squad. We need a few more lady skaters to push us over the minimum necessary to officially launch this new group.
Our goal is not to dilute the other great programs in the region but provide a convenient and competitive alternative for girls hockey players east of the DC beltway --- especially former Monarch players in the Anne Arundel county area. We will hold an initial introductory meeting next week. The goal of the meeting will be to meet with all interested players and their families in person, collect detailed contact info and answer your questions. The Navy Youth Hockey Board will meet on Wed. May 21 at the McMullen (Navy) rink. The girls team meeting will occur before the Board mtg that night. -- 5pm at the rink (upstairs foyer or conference room).
Please respond if you are interest in finding out more about this new opportunity and if you will attend the meeting on the 21st at 5pm.
Thank you in advance and hoping to see you next week.

Maryland Monarchs U16 went 3 for 3 this weekend in the PVAHA affiliate games. Winning the first game vs Montgomery after a 4-4 tie takes the game to overtime. No score in the overtime sets up a shoot out. Two goals to one in the shoot out gives the Monarchs the win. The second game of the day against a fresh Susquehanna team ends in a 4-3 win for the Monarchs. The Championship game on Sunday was a 1-0 win over Montgomery. With the folding of Team Florida U16 in December, PVAHA became the only affiliate with national-bound U16 teams. This makes the PVAHA Champion also the SE District Champion and the team to move forward to USA Hockey Nationals! The Monarchs have declared for Nationals twice and both times won the PVAHA title! Way to go,Girls!
